I was a Guest on the Down in a Heap Podcast!

Hey everybody. I know it has been a while. Like many of you, I have been thrown for a loop by the virus. I hope to be back to some semblance of normalcy soon. In the meantime, I was thrilled to be a guest on Rob C's excellent Down in a Heap podcast. We discussed our own personal "Appendix Ns". Check it out HERE or listen with the embedded player.

Humpday Blog-O-Rama 3.11.20

Blogs are an integral, vital part of the RPG hobby. They serve as incubators for new games, sounding boards for fresh ideas, and platforms for up-and-coming talent. They keep "forgotten" games alive, foster discussions, and build communities.

Every Wednesday on the Thought Eater podcast and blog, I take a look at what is going on in the vibrant RPG blog scene. Check out previous Humpday Blog-O-Rama posts HERE.

Sunday Zine Club #7 (Guest: Evlyn Moreau)

Aside from the actual PLAYING of games, my favorite things about this wonderful hobby are those two bastions of DIY creativity, zines and blogs. I tackle blogs every week on Humpday Blog-O-Rama...and now on Sundays I bring you Sunday Zine Club! Pocketmods, pamphlets, digest-sized, PDFs...I love them all! Expect cool features, news, reviews, interviews, and more! All of the links mentioned on the podcasts will be listed here on the blog, much like the Humpday show.

You can "join the club" and make the show better. Are you working on a zine? Do you have zine-related news to share? Would you like to send me a review copy or to be considered for an interview on the show? I want to hear from you! Email me at frothsof at gmail or use the contact form on my blog (visible in desktop mode in the right-hand column).

Free and Pay-What-You-Want 5e DMs Guild Highlights: Week Ending 3.7.20

Every week, talented creators upload Dungeons and Dragons products to the DMs Guild, pricing them as free or pay-what-you-want in order to reach customers. Dozens of new free and PWYW products are added each week alone. It is a lot to sort through. My hope is that highlighting a few of each week's best supplements will help the designers get the attention they deserve.

You can find previous posts in this series HERE.

This was the slowest week on the Guild that I can remember, but I was able to find a few gems.

Eberron Battlemaps - Lightning Rail Version 2 from Thomas Pedersen

What's an Eberron game without a little lightning rail action? Pedersen is back with another pack of battlemaps to fuel your fantasy noir. See their first set HERE.

Way of Gravitational Force from Jordan Vanderkooy

This is the coolest Monk subclass that I have seen in a while. All of the features allow you to mess around with gravitational forces. For example, you can spend ki to make an object or area sort of act like a magnet and pull creatures toward it, or draw projectiles towards yourself instead of a party member. Looks really fun.

Forgotten Races from J.P. Aljets

Getting tired of the same old racial options? Here are five new ancestry options that all feel generic enough to fit into most settings. Also includes new elf and halfling subraces.

Impostor - Character Background Option from Martin Davico

This background idea could make for some humorous roleplay. Basically, you have been given a lot of credit for something you didn't do, or something that you did accidentally. With the right group, this could be really funny to play out.
