Free and Pay-What-You-Want 5e DMs Guild Highlights: Week Ending 9.14.19
Every week, talented creators upload Dungeons and Dragons products to the DMs Guild, pricing them as free or pay-what-you-want in order to reach customers. Dozens of new free and pwyw products are added each week alone. It is a lot to sort through. My hope is that highlighting a few of each week's best supplements will help the designers get the attention they deserve.
You can find previous posts in this series HERE.
Bone China Isle from Green Bird RPGs
Green Bird is one of the most consistent 3rd party publishers on the Guild. Here you have an exotic island location with NPCs, unique items, random tables, and plot hooks, all presented with the wonderful illustrations I have come to expect from Green Bird.
Character Sheet Revamped from Taron Pounds
Just when you thought you couldn't possibly need a new character sheet, Taron Pounds comes out with this variant. Feels much less crowded than the standard sheets, and it keeps the information sorted and grouped in a very user-friendly way. Check it out and see if you agree.
Baltezaar's Book Builder from Michael Martin
When your players wander into a dusty old library, do you struggle to come up with random book titles and details? I know I do. I'm a total blank. This is a really useful supplement that provides random tables not only for what a book is about, but also its binding, condition, and numerous other details.
Larloch's Grimoire of Dark Secrets from Magnus GT Hamann
Wow. There is something for everybody here. 119 pages, jam-packed with archetypes, magic items, spells, new monsters, and more. Framed as "the discoveries of Larloch the Shadow King", this is one of those DMs Guild products you don't want to miss. Snag immediately.
The Axolitl and Riverlands Encounters from MontyGlu
The Axolitl are an amphibious freshwater race. The artwork is outstanding and it is no wonder these cute little fellers get a bonus to charisma. Also includes a couple of extra creatures, the manatee and the Neontra, which are sort of like intelligent minnows. I enjoyed the somewhat whimsical tone.

Humpday Blog-O-Rama 9.11.19
Blogs are an integral, vital part of the RPG hobby. They serve as incubators for new games, sounding boards for fresh ideas, and platforms for up-and-coming talent. They keep "forgotten" games alive, foster discussions, and build communities.
Every Wednesday on the Thought Eater podcast and blog, I take a look at what is going on in the vibrant RPG blog scene. Check out previous Humpday Blog-O-Rama posts HERE.

Free and Pay-What-You-Want 5e DMs Guild Highlights: Week Ending 9.7.19

Dozens of new free and pwyw products are added each week alone. It is a lot to sort through. My hope is that highlighting a few of each week's best supplements will help the designers get the attention they deserve.
You can find previous posts in this series HERE.
Complete Combat Sheet 5e from Caelan Levine
Handy form-fillable sheet for DMs to plan encounters and/or track combat with. I wouldn't use this with the average encounter, but could be helpful when you have something big planned for your players.
Mike's Free Encounters #1-10 from Michael LaBossiere
This is a compilation of ten combat encounters previously available for free here on the Guild. Easy to sprinkle into sandbox settings. Consider tipping Michael; they put up a lot of free products for folks.
Alister Konezegel's Field Guide Volume II: Aquatic Terrors from Zeke Gonzalez
Inspired collection of ten new aquatic creatures such as the Moray Dragon and the Arcanelure Anglerfish. Perfect for Saltmarsh random encounters.
Call of the Wild from Midnight Tower
I was impressed with the professional layout, cartography, and pseudo-sandbox feel of this short adventure. New items, new monsters...this is quality. If you like it, pony up for the other adventures in the series.
DM Screen Playmat (SPANISH) from Bekwo
Although I don't speak Spanish, this was so awesome that I wanted to share it for readers who might. I reaaaalllly hope a version of this in English is forthcoming, because this is a truly killer GM "screen".
